New Delhi, January 5: The Accidental Prime Minister, a biopic on Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, is once again in a pool of controversy. The film starring Anupam Kher and Akshaye Khanna has been assumed as a sharp dig on Indian National Congress (INC) party. Recently, A plea has been moved before the Delhi High Court against the movie demanding a ban on the trailer. Maharashtra Youth Congress Seeks to Review 'The Accidental Prime Minister' Via Exclusive Screening, Threatens to Stall Release.

The plea states that facts have been twisted to misrepresent the image of Congress and former PM Manmohan Singh. Earlier, Maharashtra Youth Congress President, Satyajeet Tambe Patil wrote a letter to the makers of the movie and asked them to keep a special screening before its official release. "Looking at the trailer of the movie it can be understood that facts have been played with and presented in an incorrect manner with regards to the Ex-Prime Minister Respected Manmohan Singh Ji, UPA Chairperson Respected smt. Sonia Gandhi Ji and Congress Party to malign the image of Congress Party which is not acceptable to us, " said Tambe.

The movie 'The Accidental Prime Minister' is based on the controversial Sanjay Baru's book of the same name. In the movie, veteran actor Anupam Kher is playing the role of Manmohan Singh, while, Akshay Khanna is playing the role Sanjay Baru, Singh's media advisor. It also features Aahana Kumra and Arjun Mathur as Priyanka Gandhi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi, respectively.
