Aaditya Thackeray Has Net Worth of Over Rs 16 Crore, Owns Second-Hand BMW Car, Faces No Criminal Charges, Says Shiv Sena Leader's Election Affidavit

According to his election affidavit, Aaditya Thackeray has a total of movable and immovable assets worth over Rs 10 crore, including a second-hand BMW car which he bought this year at Rs 6, 50,000.

Mumbai, October 3: Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray on Thursday filed his nomination papers from the Worli Assembly seat in Mumbai for the October 21 Maharashtra Assembly elections. According to his election affidavit, Aaditya Thackeray has a total of movable and immovable assets worth over Rs 10 crore, including a second-hand BMW car which he bought this year at Rs 6, 50,000. His cash balance in various bank accounts is Rs 10,36,15,218, says the affidavit. Aaditya Thackeray as Maharashtra CM? Aaditya Thackeray has a total of movable assets worth over Rs 11 crore. He owns jewellery worth Rs 64 lakh. His immovable assets are worth over Rs 4 crore. Aaditya has declared that he has graduated from Mumbai's St. Xavier College and holds a degree in Laws from KC College, Churchgate. His balance in fixed deposit at three banks is over Rs 4 core. Before filing his nomination papers, Aaditya prayed before a portrait of his grandfather and Shiv Sena founder-patriarch the late Bal Thackeray at his family home 'Matoshri' in Bandra. In between, he also got a phone call of best wishes from Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and a member of Sena's ruling ally the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Aaditya was accompanied by his parents Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray and mom Rashmi, and the excited younger sibling Tejas. Aaditya's candidature assumes significance as no member of the Thackeray family has ever contested an election or even held a constitutional post since Bal Thackeray founded the Shiv Sena in 1966.

Prior to his formal entry into electoral politics, Aaditya undertook the Jan Ashirwad Yatra and covered nearly 4000 km across Maharashtra to "thank" the voters for the support given to the party candidates in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
