Mumbai, July 23: Employees working at municipal corporations, municipalities, Nagar Parishads and Nagar Panchayats across Maharashtra will now get salary as per the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission or 7th CPC. According to reports, the 7th Pay Commission will be implemented for employees of municipal corporations, municipalities, Nagar Parishads and Nagar Panchayats from September 1.
The state government had in March 2018 approved the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, giving a salary hike to its over 20 lakh employees and pensioners from January 1, 2019.
Arrears of Rs 10,000 crore would be paid retrospectively from 2016 over a five-week period, while the dearness allowance would be paid retrospectively for the last 14 months, the government had said.
