Hyderabad, July 9: Around 3,000 Indians are currently trapped in Cambodia, with many stranded women being forced to make nude video calls to people in India. The stuck Indians are reportedly being used as salves by by Chinese cybercriminals. Disturbing details have emerged after a Telangana resident Munshi Prakash, who is one of the victims, managed to escape from the clutches of Chinese cybercriminals. He was deported to Delhi on July 5, along with nine other victims.

As per Times Of India, Prakash, a native of Mahabubabad's Bayyaram Mandal, is a B.Tech graduate in civil engineering who worked with an IT firm in Hyderabad. In search of a fresh job, he posted his profile on several job sites. Following this, he got a call from these scammers. "One Vijay, an agent in Cambodia, called me and offered me a job in Australia. He said I needed travel history before going to Australia and gave me tickets for Malaysia," he was quoted as saying. 23 Suspects Arrested in China for Trafficking Vietnamese Women.

From Kuala Lumpur, Prakash was taken to Phnom Penh on March 12. A local representative named Vijay collected the equivalent of INR 85,000 in US dollars from him. Subsequently, Chinese nationals seized his passport and took him to Krong Bavet, a large compound with towers. Prakash was placed in Tower C, along with other Indians. Furthermore, he was put in a dark room and tortured. "When I fell sick, they took me out but forced me to continue scamming,” he added. The Telangana resident managed to record a video of his harrowing conditions secretly and sent it to his sister via email. She promptly reported the situation to the authorities, leading to his rescue.

As soon as the Indian embassy became aware of the trafficking situation, they intervened. Prakash was rescued by the Cambodian police on April 16. However, the Chinese gang retaliated by filing false charges against him, leaving him jail for 12 days. Once the charges were proven to be fake, he was deported to India along with nine other victims.

After his release, Prakash said that 3,000 Indians, mainly from Andra Pradesh and Telangana, are stuck in Cambodia. According to him, the Indian women are being forced to make nude video calls to people in India in order to honey-trap them.
