Meanwhile, in July reports surfaced that Headley was in a critical condition after being assaulted by two inmates in the jail in the US where he is lodged since 2016. Two inmates reportedly attacked Headley at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago on July 8. The attackers, whose identities are yet to be confirmed, are two brothers who are serving a prison term for attacking on-duty police personnel nearly a decade ago.
