Mumbai, November 25: Mumbai Police Commissioner Subodh Jaiswal, in an interview to The Times of India, said that the Mumbai police is better equipped now to handle terror attacks and stated that terror attacks from Pakistan are a bigger threat to the city than even the IS (Islamic State). On November 26, 2008, 10 terrorists trained by Lashkar-e-Taiba had entered Mumbai and carried attacks at several spots in the city. The Mumbai police commissioner, in an elaborate interview to the daily, explained how the intelligence network and the response time of the Mumbai police has improved drastically in the past decade. The top cop also said that Pakistan has been trying to conduct more terror attacks on the city even after 26/11 and that a few attacks have been prevented since the attacks. However, he did not reveal more details regarding the failed attempts by terrorists, citing security reasons.

The top cop added that coastal security has been enhanced and more coastal police stations have been set up in the years after attack. Talking about the attacks, ten heavily-armed terrorists trained by LeT, sneaked through the Arabian Sea and attacked multiple locations in South Mumba killing 166 persons, including Indian security personnel and 26 foreign nationals and left another 300 injured, besides inflicting huge damage to public and private properties.
