Ayodhya, November 25: The Uttar Pradesh government has finalised the details for the construction of a massive statue of Lord Ram in Ayodhya. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday held a cabinet meeting in Lucknow where their primary topic of discussion was the construction of a grand statue of Lord Ram, which will be made of bronze, on the banks of river Sarayu in Ayodhya. News Agency ANI reported that five firms shortlisted for building the statue have given their presentations before Yogi Adityanath Saturday evening and soil testing has been done for constructing of the statue. However, selection of a plot for the statue is still on and the cost of the project is not yet revealed. Yogi Adityanath's 'Tallest Ram Statue' Bid Evokes Opposition From Ayodhya Head Priest.

According to the Press release, there will be a provision for a 'modern museum' inside the pedestal that will showcase the history of Ayodhya and the entire 'Ikshvaku Vansh' right from King Manu to the present status of 'Ram Janmabhoomi'.

UP Principal Secretary (Information) Avanish Awasthi told PTI that the actual height of statue will be 151 metres, its overhead umbrella would be 20 metres and the pedestal would be 50 metres. It is reported that Ram statue will be built on 100 acres of land. The Sarayu riverfront will also be developed as a part of this grand project.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray with his family Today morning offered prayers to Lord Ram Lalla. On Saturday, Thackeray arrived Ayodhya along with his wife and son Aditya Thackeray for his two-day visit to Ram Janam Bhoomi. It is reported that at 11 am on Sunday Thackeray will interact with the media and later with the public.

Earlier while supporting the Ram Mandir and condemning BJP- led central government, Shiv Sena supremo said, "The temple should have already been constructed. Do whatever you want to do, whether it is coming up with a law or bringing in an ordinance, but the temple must be constructed." Meantime, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) will also commence its 'Dharam Sabha' to push for the construction of a Ram Mandir.
