2008 Jaipur Bomb Blasts: Court Announces Death Penalty For Convicts Sarvar Aazmi, Mohammad Saif, Saifur Rahman and Salman

Jaipur, December 20: A court in Jaipur, which had convicted four persons for their involvement in the 2008 Jaipur serial bombings, announced the quantum of punishment on Friday. The convicts - Sarvar Aazmi, Mohammad Saif, Saifur Rahman, and Salman - have been sentenced to capital punishment. The bench, in its order, stated that the four of them should be hanged till death. In the verdict announced on Thursday, the bench had held the four of them guilty for conspiring and executing the fatal attacks in Jaipur. The fifth accused, Shahbaz Hussain, was not held guilty under Section 120B of the IPC.

The bombings were carried out by the terrorists in the vicinities of Badi Chaupar, Hawa Mahal, Manak Chowk Police Station, Johari Bazar, Tripolia Bazar, Choti Chaupar and Kotwali area. The attack had drawn international condemnation, with several countries along with the United Nations expressing concern over the spate of terror incidents in the nation.
