2 Surya Kiran Hawks Crash in Yelahanka Ahead of Aero India 2019, One Pilot Killed

Bengaluru, February 19: Ahead of the Aero India 2019, a five-day air show starting February 20, two  Hawk aircraft of Suryakiran aerobatic team crashed at Yelahanka on Tuesday. According to reports, the aircraft crashed during the rehearsals for the upcoming air show at the Yelahanka air base in Bengaluru. According to reports, one pilot has been killed while the other managed to eject safely. Aero India, Asia's largest aerospace exhibition will be held in its traditional venue of Bengaluru from February 20 to 24. According to Bengaluru Police, one civilian has been hurt and the debris has fallen near ISRO layout in Yelahanka new town area.

Ahead of the  12th edition of AERO India 2019, at Yelahanka Air Base, in Bengaluru, several aircraft including the Rafale fighter aircraft, Surya Kiran aircraft, the SU-30 fighter aircraft were seen taking a flight during the rehearses.

Earlier this month, a trainee aircraft of Carver aviation, a pilot training institute in Maharashtra, crashed near Indapur in Pune. The trainee pilot has been injured in the crash. In another similar plane crash incident earlier this month, two pilots were killed after a mirage 2000 trainer fighter aircraft of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) crashed at HAL Airport in Bengaluru. At first, both pilots had ejected, but one of them succumbed to his injuries after he had landed on the wreckage of the aircraft.
