New Delhi, November 28: In a big win for the 1984 riot victims, the Delhi high court on Wednesday dismissed the review plea of all 88 accused in the 1984 Anti-Sikh riots case. The court upheld the conviction of 88 people by the trial court in connection with riots in East Delhi's Trilokpuri area and has asked the accused to surrender soon before the Court. The Court on Wednesday gave its judgment in the 22-year-old appeals of 88 who were convicted for rioting case. Today, after 34 years justice has been served to the riot victims. Reports inform that only 47 out of 88 convicts are alive. On November 14, the Delhi court had awarded death penalty to one accused Yashpal Singh. After the assassination of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, over 3,000 Sikhs were killed across the country, out of which most were killed in Delhi. Reports inform that the verdict was pronounced in Tihar Jail instead of the court, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Kumar Gyanesh was quoted as saying by ANI.
