11-Year-Old Boy Flees Home, Calls Parents to Reach 'in 5 Minutes’, Dad Mishears ‘Rs 5 Lakh Ransom’ and Approaches Police

Noida, October 17: In a bizarre incident, an 11-year-old boy from Noida left home and called his father after a while asking him to come and pick him up in five minutes. The father, however, heard that their child had been kidnapped and a ransom of Rs five lakh demanded his release. Reports informed that the class 6 student living in Noida's Chhaijarsi area left home angrily after he was scolded by his uncle. The boy was often scolded because he was having a habit of taking money from the cash box, reported PTI.

After getting scolded, the boy left for school but instead he asked for a lift from the stranger and went to Bisrakh in Greater Noida. After reaching there, he roamed till the time he got bored and thought of calling his parents to pick him up. For this purpose, he requested a daily wage worker and made a call to home and said he is in Bisrakh and told his father to come 'in five minutes' said police. His father tried to call the number subsequently but the number was switched off.

His father alerted Phase 3 police station and said that his son is kidnapped and a ransom of Rs five lakh is demanded. Soon the police stations were alerted and after they located the number and reached to the worker, they also found boy roaming nearby. The police officials said that initially, it appeared as a kidnapping case but later it turned that boy left home on his own will and made a call to his parents. Police said it as a case of miscommunication and no official complaint was lodged.
