New Delhi, August 21: A 20-year-old SUV driver from Bareilly who was on a fun ride with her friends crushed a beggar in New Delhi and dragged her body for almost 500 metres till the police stopped it at a barricade. According to a Times of India report, the incident took place when the victim was crossing the road in Baba Kharak Singh Marg. People on the streets who witnessed the horrific incident said that the car came at high speed towards her and hit her.

Eyewitnesses said the car came towards her at high speed and hit her. The woman driver stopped for a few moments but then took off again. Rakesh Kumar, an eyewitness as quoted in the report said, "We chased the car on a bike and signalled the driver to stop as the woman’s body was stuck under the rear wheels. She didn’t listen and drove on. In the meantime, a police patrol squad also noticed us and joined the chase." The accused woman driver identified as Shreya Agarwal was with her friends Baby, Rani and Megha. She is a student of a fashion designing course from a Mumbai college and was visiting home in Delhi.

The deceased was reportedly stuck between the axle and the rear wheels of the car. She was taken to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Police found out that the girl had a license, but she was pretty new to driving.
