New Delhi, July 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the most liked world leader on photo-sharing site Instagram, according to the rankings released by Twiplomacy. Besides that, PM Modi is also ranked first in the list of the most effective world leaders on Instagarm as well as on Facebook.

According to the newly released 2018 Twiplomacy study by BCW, a top-three and the first truly integrated global communications agency in the world, PM Modi is the most liked world leader on Instagram, followed by Joko Widodo of Indonesia and US President Donald Trump.

PM Modi also holds the first position in the list of the most effective world leaders on Instagram and on Facebook. Turkey's president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is the second most effective world leader on Instagarm. On Facebook, Trump is the second most effective profile.

PM Modi, who is the third most followed world leader on Twitter, is ranked 11 in the list of the most influential world leaders on the micro-blogging site. Saudi King Salman and US President Trump hold the first and second position in this list. Pope Francis' is on the third position.

The report found that leaders around the world have jumped on the Twitter train, with the governments of only six countries -- Laos, Mauritania, Nicaragua, North Korea, Swaziland and Turkmenistan -- still don't have an official presence on the platform.

PM Modi has been very active on social media platforms - Facebook, Twitter, Instagram - and is using them very effectively to reach the masses in electoral politics.
