Mumbai, October 22: N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, has earned Rs 55.11 crore as remuneration in FY17-18, after joining Tata Sons. This amount is almost 80 percent more than what he got in the 11 months as TCS Managing Director, where he had earned Rs 30.15 crore as remuneration. The report highlighted that out of the remuneration of Rs 55.11 crore, 85 percent came in the form of commissions and percentage of profit. The report highlights that Chandrasekaran’s annual payout is almost three times more than Cyrus Mistry, who earned Rs 16 crore as remuneration before being ousted from the post.
Chandrasekaran, 56, is the first non-Parsi chairman of Tata Sons and has managed the business well by maintaining a good equation will all the Tata stakeholders. Under the supervision of Chandra, Tata Sons is restructuring its business to increase the profitability and become a leaner corporate structure.
