Bihar, August 2: In connection with the Muzaffarpur shelter home rape case, Supreme Court takes suo moto cognizance, and has issued a notice to the Bihar government, and Centre seeking a detailed response from them on the issue. According to an alert on ANI, the Court has also restrained electronic media from telecasting any images of the victims, even in morphed or blurred forms. The Court has also expressed concern over identity of child rape victims being revealed by media and also how the media has revealed their identities.
The entire nation got shaken as the horrific case of sexual abuse came forward. On July 24, 11 employees of a child shelter home in Muzaffarpur were arrested for allegedly sexually harassing the inmates. After receiving information, the police raided the vicinity and rescued 44 girls.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had previously ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the case. On Wednesday, Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik directed the state authorities to institute a monitoring system in all shelter homes in the state to avoid Muzaffarpur kind incidents in future.
According to a previous ANI report, Bihar DGP KS Dwivedi confirmed that the medical reports of twenty-nine out of forty-two girls indicate that sexual contact was established with them. One of the victims had revealed her ordeal and told the interrogators that a girl was allegedly killed, and buried underground in the premises of the shelter home.
