Patna, July 26: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the Muzaffarpur shelter home rape case, where several girls were allegedly sexually exploited. Kumar has asked the state's Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary and the Director General of the Police to hand over the probe of the case to the CBI. Almost 11 employees of the shelter home have been arrested concerning the case. Police recently raided the premises of the shelter home and rescued 44 girls.

According to an ANI report, Bihar DGP KS Dwivedi confirmed that the medical reports of twenty-nine out of forty-two girls indicate that sexual contact was established with them. One of the victims had revealed her ordeal and told the interrogators that a girl was allegedly killed, and buried underground in the premises of the shelter home.

Manju Verma, Bihar Minister on allegations that her husband visited Muzaffarpur Shelter Home said, "Wife of one of the accused, who was arrested, is making baseless allegations after a month. My husband accompanied me to the shelter home in 2016. We never visited the shelter afterwards."
