New Delhi, August 28: In an unusual love story, a Muslim man converted to Hinduism and took the name Aryan Arya to marry his 23-year-old Jain girl in February this year. But fate had some other plans as the 33-year-old man has recently knocked the doors of the Supreme Court alleging that the girl's parents were playing a key role in separating them.

A bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud had taken note of Arya’s judge Nikhil Nayyar’s allegations and ordered the superintendent of police, Dhamtari, to produce the girl in court on August 27. Reportedly, the police brought the girl to the Supreme Court on Monday, and she was accompanied by her father and a relative. Suspecting that she may get swayed by the presence of her relatives in the Courtroom.

The CJI asked the girl to forward and told her parents and relatives to vacate the room. The girl continued to be firm in her decision and she kept on saying that even though she had married the man according to her will, but now she prefers to stay with her parents and is not under any kind of parental pressure. The bench as quoted in the report said, "She is an adult and must be allowed to exercise her free will. If she does not want to go with her husband, then it becomes a matrimonial case, which can be adjudicated by an appropriate court.” The bench had previously told the petitioner if the girl doesn't support your plea, it is the end of the petition.
