Mumbai Teacher Gets 10-Year Imprisonment by POCSO Court for Raping Minor Student
The victim was raped twice in 2016 and she was 4th week pregnant. The Thane POCSO Court sentenced him 10 years imprisonment and Rs 50,00 fine.
Mumbai, July 10: A Thane special Protection of Children from Sexual Offences sentenced a teacher to 10-years of imprisonment and ordered him to pay Rs 50,000 fine for raping a 13-year-old student. According to a Mumbai Mirror report, in 2016, the girl, along with her parents approached the doctor to terminate her pregnancy. Police were alerted and soon they traced the 34-year-old teacher of a Nerul school. In December 2016, following several protests outside the school, the teacher was arrested. Reportedly, during an investigation, several parents narrated their ordeal about the teacher, who narrated vulgar stories to the students and showed them indecent pictures.
The victim was raped twice between April and August 2016, and by September, she was 4th week pregnant. The convict's wife argued in favour of the husband, that he wanted a death sentence because it is not possible for him to live with this shame all throughout his life.
