Mumbai, Aug 20: Mumbai woke up to some moderate rains on Monday morning leading to waterlogging and traffic disruptions at some places in the city. Local train services on Central, Western, Harbour and Trans Harbour lines were unaffacted by the Mumbai rains. In Thane, authorities shut Teen Hath Naka flyover, which led to traffic jams on Cadbury bridge and Nitin Junction flyover amid rainfall.

In the second week of July, heavy rains crippled Mumbai, with severe water logging and the local commute services being jammed across the city. The downpours led to houses being water-logged in Palghar, causing inconvenience to the people. Railway tracks at Nallasopara station got submerged after water level rose to 260 mm. Schools and colleges remained closed in Mumbai on July 9.

The flood-like situation had affected the railway services also, after which the, Bombay High Court pulled up the railways for failing to maintain smooth functioning of operations. The court observed that "Central & Western Railway have not done anything. Even after so many years, suburban railway tracks are submerged in rains."

The monsoon rainfall has disrupted routine life in pockets of Maharashtra.
