Mumbai, July 4: Mumbai is likely to witness another spell of heavy rains this week as Monsoon is expected to remain active over most parts of the country, according to weather agency. "The monsoon current is active and rain showers are expected to continue for the rest of the week," Ajay Kumar from IMD Mumbai told a news channel.

According to a private weather forecast agency Skymet, Monsoon revival is expected in next 48 hours and several states including Maharashtra will see rainfall activity. It means Mumbai may witness another spell of moderate to heavy Monsoon showers. Rains are likely to even pick up pace by late evening or night hours, it predicted.

Mumbai was crippled for the second time in less than a month on Tuesday when heavy rainfall lashed several parts of the city. In the 24-hour span of June 2 and 3 (8.30am-8.30am), the financial capital of the country received 131 mm rainfall, which falls in the very heavy category. This was the second wettest day this season.
