Mumbai Rains: Check out Traffic Diversion Update and Which Roads to Avoid Due to Waterlogging in The City

The trafficdepartment and Mumbai Polie issued an advisory to people flying out of the city to plan their travel taking into consideration the traffic woes on the road leading to the airport.

As heavy rains continue to lash Mumbai, the city traffic police have put several road diversions. On Tuesday morning, a foot overbridge collapsed adding to the traffic woes of office goers. Waterlogging has been reported in various low lying areas of the city and its suburbs. The traffic department said the Gokhale Flyover has been closed down for vehicles and those travelling through the area has been asked to use Bisleri Junction and then take Teli Galli following Surve Chowk going to Andheri subway, and then SV Road.

The bridge that connects Andheri East to its West is used by thousands of commuters every day. Commuters travelling from West to East were advised to take the Juhu Vile Parle Development (JVPD) scheme road following Sujav Hospital leading to Mithibai College then SV Road. According to a report in Hindustan Times, officials said that there are reports of slow moving traffic at various places due to waterlogging.

Those travelling by road should note that Shyam Talav Road, Hindmata at Dadar, Oberoi Mall at Goregaon East towards WEH, CSMT Road, Kurla are waterlogged. They said that traffic was moving slowly towards at the Santa Cruz-Chembur Link Road (SCLR). At Mahim junction, Nehru Nagar bridge, Shyam Talav and Hindmata about one-foot water was reported. Waterlogging was reported on CST Road and Kurla affecting traffic on SCLR.

The department and Mumbai Polie issued an advisory to people flying out of the city to plan their travel taking into consideration the traffic woes on the road leading to the airport. To reduce crowding caused due to the waterlogging, The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) is running 14 extra buses between Borivali to Churchgate.
