Mumbai, May 26: A principal of a reputed engineering college in Mumbai's Wadala has been accused of sexual molestation by a first-year-student. The victim claims the professor groped her inside his cabin on May 18.

The 25-year-old had went to the professor's cabin to seek his signatures on her summer term form. Finding the student alone, the accused allegedly molested the victim and attempted to force himself upon her.

As per the victim, the professor, while signing the summer term form, pulled her near himself "by the ear". He subsequently "touched her chest" and attempted to "kiss her on the mouth", reported Mid-Day. When the girl began raising hue and cry, the professor allegedly attempted to silence her saying she would be "failed in Mathematics 1, M2 and M3" if she narrates the ordeal to anyone.

The victim, however, revealed the alleged molestation incident to her parents the next day. The father of the victim reached out to the college's director and submitted a written complaint.

The college director, while speaking to reporters, said the matter has already been taken up for investigation by the Vishakha Committee. The family members of the girl, however, claim they would approach the police if the in-house panel fails to take satisfactory action against the accused.
