Mumbai Police Closes Parel TT Bridge Close For Traffic, Vehicular Movement Slow at Hindmata Flyover

After the Andheri bridge collapse, cracks were reported on several bridges that were later closed for any movement.

Mumbai, July 12: The Mumbai Police on Thursday informed citizens that Parel TT bridge (south bound) was close for vehicle moment. It also informed that traffic was slow at Hindmata flyover due to pipeline repair work. Due to these development, there were several diversions.

"Traffic slow at Hindmata flyover, due to pipeline repair work. Parel TT bridge (S Bound) close for traffic," Mumbai Police tweeted. "South bound traffic diversion in Bhoiwada - Naigaon cross road towards Char rasta. BA road, Matunga, diverted towards left turn MTNL OFFICE- char rasta- RA Kidwai road- CST," it said in the same tweet.

The Mumbai Police have been taking precautions since a part of a bridge caved in at Andheri station collapsed on July 3 following heavy rains. After the incident, the Railways said it would conduct a safety audit of around 450 road overbridges, foot overbridges and bridges over the pipelines in Mumbai.

After the Andheri bridge collapse, cracks were reported on several bridges that were later closed for any movement.  On July 4, the city police clsoed road overbridge at Mumbai's Grant Road Station after it cracked.
