Mumbai Man Sentenced to 10 Years Imprisonment for Sodomising Mentally Challenged Minor Boy

Man has been sentenced to 10 years in jail for sexually assaulting a mentally challenged minor boy in 2015

Mumbai, July 2: Mumbai man was recently sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by a POCSO Court for the aggravated sexual assault of a mentally challenged 14-year-old boy in 2015. According to a Mumbai Mirror report, the accused Sanjay Kadam allegedly called the boy over to his house while he was playing, and he sodomised him. The incident came to the light, when the victim's father returned from work and found his wife looking scared, holding up the blood-soiled clothes of his son. Post medical examination, the doctor alerted the police. The accused was held guilty under Section 377 of the IPC, along with Sections 4,8 and 12 of the POCSO Act.

In another shocking incident , reported in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur area three days back, four jealous cousins of a girl sedated and raped her repeatedly in a government school campus because she was exceptionally good in studies. One of her teachers also joined the cousins in raping the girl. The accused cousins and the teacher filmed the act and then circulated some of the video clips among family members on a WhatsApp group on Friday after which the matter came to light

According to a PTI report, over 90,000 cases registered under the POCSO Act, were pending for trial in the country by the end of 2016, the Lok Sabha was informed on Friday.
