Mumbai-Howrah Express Train Derails Near Igatpuri: Several Trains Running Late, No Injury Reported
The exact cause of the derailment is yet to be ascertained by the railway authority
Mumbai, June 10: The express train Mumbai-Howrah derailed near Igatpuri station in the wee hours of Sunday. According to ANI, around three coaches of the express train derailed, however, no injury has been reported. After officials got to know about the mishap, they rush to the spot to take stock of the situation. The exact cause of the derailment is yet to be ascertained.
Due to the mishap, 12 other express trains of the route have been cancelled subsequently by the railway authority. The Central Railway Chief Public Relation officer Sunil Udasi confirmed that three coaches of 12809 Mumbai-Howrah Mail via Nagpur derailed near Igatpuri on Mumbai Division at 2:05 am on Sunday. There are no injuries to any passenger.
Reportedly, the pantry coach of the train and other adjoining coaches -- S -12, S-13 were derailed.
Earlier too such incidents of the express train derailment were reported. Last year, the two wagons goods train derailed near Khandala valley. In May, the engine of Patna-Kota express train derailed after a fallen tree hit the moving train in Dariyabad town in Barabanki.
