Mumbai Fire: Massive Flame Breaks Out in Mankhurd Scrapyard, 20 Fire Tenders Rushed

Mumbai, February 11: Massive fire broke out in a scarp yard at Mankhurd located near the Ghatkopar Mankhurd link road on 11 February, Sunday morning around 6 am, according to the reports.
Fire brigade officials confirmed that 16 fire engines, a jumbo water tanker, an ambulance were rushed to the spot. The fire is believed to have spread through scrap material in an area of about 500 X 500 sq feet, remarked officials.
It's reported that fire broke out at a shop near Maya Hotel in Mankhurd and that the number of fire tenders sent at the spot have gone up to 20.
No casualties have been reported so far. Further details are awaited. Mumbai has been in news lately due to fire incidents in the past few months. A sweet- farsan shop in Andheri was charred due to fire and four working there had died as they couldn't escape. The Lower Parel Kamala Mills compound fire incident in December is still being investigated and had pointed out a glaring error on the part of owners and civic authorities in maintaining fire safety at work places.
