Mumbai, August 22: A Level-2 fire has broken out in Crystal Tower near Hindmata Cinema in Parel area. Ten firefighting tenders have rushed to the spot, according to an ANI report. More details on the same are awaited. Major traffic has been affected in the area due to the fire. Southbound traffic on Ambedkar Road affected from Parel. Flyovers are advised to be used to pass Parel on this road or commuters can use other routes.
In the Chembur fire, people felt tremors over a km away from the area and noticed some weird blast-like smell in the air. The reason for the explosion is not known as yet. Nearly nine fire tenders, two foam tenders and 2 jumbo tankers present at the spot. No damage to life or property has been reported so far. Reports inform that the blast was so powerful that residents of the buildings ran outside to save their lives.
