Mumbai, November 16: Cab aggregators Ola and Uber in Mumbai have once again decided to go on strike from November 17, if their demands are not met. Reportedly, the drivers are demanding an increase in base fare with the minimum being in the range of Rs 100 and Rs 150 based on the type of car. The drivers were previously on a 12-day strike to November 3, and they withdrew their protest following a meeting between their union and Maharashtra transport minister Diwakar Raote. Earlier, the Maharashtra Rajya Rashtriya Kamgar Sangh (MRRKS) - that was leading the strike - said most of the issues had been resolved with the Ola management, but talks with Uber still remained inconclusive. Ola agreed to give incentives to the drivers without adding an unnecessary burden on the passengers.

According to MidDay reports, the drivers of Ola and Uber are unwillingly to join the strike, because it is affecting their livelihood. But they are being forced to join the strike by union leaders, who have threatened to damage their cabs. The report highlights that these drivers have already suffered during the previous strike, that went on for over a fortnight.
