Mob Lynching Averted in Malegaon, 5 People Including 2-Year-Old Child Rescued by Police on Time

Malegaon, July 2: Not even 12 hours after the Dhule mob lynching incident where five people were lynched, a similar event was reported from Malegaon. According to reports, five people, including a two-year-old child was rescued by the Police in Malegaon. The five were detained by the locals on the suspicion of being child lifters. Timely intervention of police not only saved the lives of the people but also brought the situation under control.

On Sunday, five men were lynched on the suspicion of being child-lifters in Maharashtra's Rainpada village of Dhule district. According to reports, the five deceased, along with a few other men, were seen getting down off a State Transport bus, and when one of them tried to speak to a girl child, the villagers who had gathered for a weekly Sunday market pounced on them. The mob attacked the five people with stones, bricks and sticks, and they were taken to a room and beaten up. All the five people succumbed to their injuries. The video of the deceased in the Dhule incident also went viral. It showed the men lying in a pool of blood with their heads smashed. Two days ago, Malegaon Police had registered a case against ten people who were involved in attacking a man and damaging his vehicle on suspicion of being child lifters.

There has been an alarming rise in such incidents in several parts of the country when people were either attacked or lynched on suspicion that they were child abductors. Social media has been filled with forwards and rumours, which are being held responsible for the horrific situation.
