New Delhi, October 31: Over the last few months, with the #MeToo campaign gaining storm in India, several names of sexual predators have come out in the open. At the All India Radio's (AIR) Shahdol station in Madhya Pradesh, nine women employees have complained of sexual harassment against the station's assistant director Ratnakar Bharti. #MeToo in India: 9 Out of 10 Complaints of Sexual Harassment Are True, Why it’s Difficult to Frame False Cases.

However, according to a Times of India report, inspite of the police complaint against him, and the probe committee at AIR declaring him guilty a year back, he still remains stationed at the Delhi AIR headquarters. The services of the nine broadcasters have been terminated.

Similar cases of harassment were reported at Dharamshala, Obra, Sagar, Rampur, Kurukshetra and Delhi stations. Shocking instances have come to the front, where the harassers have been let off with just a warning, but those who complained, have been asked to leave.

Reportedly, the trade union has demanded, on behalf of the complainants, that the matter should be looked into properly, and the victims should be reinstated, and compensated for the loss. In addition to this, they also demand that strict punishment should be meted out to the offenders.
