Mandsaur, June 30: The eight-year-old girl who was kidnapped and raped has been responding well to the medical treatment. A medical bulletin issued by MY Hospital on Saturday confirmed that the girl was showing signs of improvement. The girl is also reported to have been interacting with her kin, and her wounds could heal in two weeks.

According to a report published in News18, the eight-year-old girl the was in immense pain and had told her mother to “either treat me or kill me”. She did not even allow her mother to leave her for a second. Rakesh Mohan Shukla, SP Mandsaur said, “We are investigating the matter on priority. A SIT has also been constituted. The second accused has been sent to police remand. We are doing everything to get them the punishment they deserve."

According to the report, in the probe it was revealed that the two accused, Irfan and Asif, spotted the girl waiting alone outside her school on Wednesday. They lured her by offering sweets. After reaching Laxman Gate, they raped her and threw her in a vacant plot. The accused assumed her to be dead.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan condemned the incident and said, "Rapists are a 'burden on the earth' and do not deserve to live." Workers and Members of Congress party also took out a candle march earlier today in Bhopal over the rape case. People of Mandsaur have come to streets to protest against the heinous crime.
