Maharashtra's Nagpur Assembly Building Compound Flooded in The Rains, Causes Inconvenience to MLAs and Government Staff
Reportedly, along with Nagpur state assembly building compound, the city airport also witnessed flooding.
Nagpur, July 6: As heavy rains lashed the orange city Nagpur early Friday morning, several parts of the city have reported waterlogging. According to the latest tweet in the ANI, among several waterlogging complaints received at different places in the city, Maharashtra's Nagpur Assembly building compound also witnessed the problem. According to the pictures posted, the assembly building compound is seen submerged in knee-length water.
Due to the waterlogging, the legislators and other staff deputed at the state monsoon assembly session, which started on July 5, had to face inconvenience.
The BJP rules Nagpur municipal corporation, and since the waterlogging issue has been reported in the assembly building compound, oppositions seem to have got an excuse to slam the BJP government for their failure and civic apathy.
During the monsoons, more complaints on waterlogging are reported in Mumbai. Therefore, the Shiv Sena-led BMC government draws a lot of flak for their failure over the civic problems, while the state coalition partner BJP usually grabs the opportunity and accuses Sena. Therefore, with Nagpur facing a similar waterlogging problem, now Sena seems to have got a chance to slam BJP for same.
Reportedly, along with Nagpur state assembly building compound, the city airport also witnessed flooding. In the pictures that emerged on the social media, cars parked outside the Nagpur airport were seen partly submerged under the water.
