Maharashtra Bank Timings Changed From Today, Check New Timetable for Banking Operations And For Customers

According to the new rule, in residential areas, the banking hours are from 9 am to 4 pm while for customers the banking hours are from 9 am to 3 pm.

Mumbai, November 1: In the financial capital and in the rest of Maharashtra, timings of public sector banks have been changed from Friday. According to a Live Mint report, the changes have been made to suit the convenience of the customers and to improve their banking experience.

Based on whether a branch is located in a residential or a commercial area, the banking hours will be defined. The timings in one particular area will be uniform all over the state. These new timings will be applicable across all public sector banks, including State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, PNB and others. According to the new rule, in residential areas, the banking hours are from 9 am to 4 pm while for customers the banking hours are from 9 am to 3 pm.

In the commercial areas, the banking hours are from 11 am to 6 pm, and for the customers, the banks will close at 5 pm. In the rest of the other areas, the bank will function from 10 am to 5 pm, and for the customers, they will shut their doors at 4 pm.

Till now, the timings varied from one bank to the other and from one branch to another. While the bank remained open for public till 3:30 pm, banks followed a 10 am to 5 pm work hour schedule.

The change in the bank timing is reportedly part of reforms in PSBs under finance ministry's Enhanced Access and Service Excellence Programme (EASE) 2.0.
