Another horrific rape case has come to the front and this time it is from the state of Madhya Pradesh. According to ANI, a 9-year-old girl has been allegedly raped by her step-father in Gwalior. FIR has been arrested, but the man is absconding after committing the heinous crime. The entire nation is still seething with anger, with the on going Unnao Rape case and Kathua's horrendous rape and murder case. It seems, there is no end to the violence against women in our country.

Giving a brief about how the two cases are just glaring the media light, but no action has still been taken. Earlier in the day, the prime accused in the Unnao Rape case, BJP MLA, Kuldeep Singh Sengar was detained by CBI for further interroragtion. He has reportedly, been taken for medical tests. On April 12, charges under POSCO act were levelled against him, however, Lucknow Police refused to arrest him till the charges are proved. On April 8, the victim, along with her family members, tried to commit suicide in front of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's residence in Lucknow. Later, the victim's father was taken into police custody from the location. As per reports, he was intimidated by Sengar's brother, Atul, who mercilessly thrashed him, while in custody and he passed away. The case still keeps hanging as the accused is still NOT arrested.

Horrific rape and murder case of the 8-year old victim, reminds us of the Nirbhaya case. An eight-year-old girl was kidnapped from Rasana village, Jammu on January 10. According to investigations, she was drugged and held captive for a week before being murdered. The eight-year-old was gang-raped thrice inside the temple basement, after the mastermind had “performed rituals" reports Indian Express. She was confined and forcefully fed sedatives, raped repeatedly then strangled and hit on the head twice with a stone — “in order to make sure” she was dead. But not before another accused, a police personnel, asked the others to “wait because he wanted to rape” her one last time.

Every time, the country witnesses such incident,  there will be numerous candle light marches, politicians pointing fingers at each other, celebrities sharing their views on social media and demanding strict action, but it seems there no end to this. Doesn't it put a big question mark on the law and authority of our country, which time and again has failed to provide a safe atmosphere for girls or 'betis of our nation?
