Madhya Pradesh Caste Shocker: Candidates Stamped on the Bodies During Police Constable Recruitment Medical Test at Dhar

Dhar, April 29: A shocking incident has emerged from the state of Madhya Pradesh where medical tests for police constable aspirants is being held. According to news agency ANI, the candidates caste was stamped on the bodies of the aspirants. The pictures of the incident has gone viral on social media and Twitter and the move is being widely criticised.

According to the information available, the Madhya Pradesh Government had issued a notification mentioning vacancies for the post constables in the police department. A written examination was held which was conducted by the Professional Examination Board for filling up a total of 14, 088 vacancies in the department.  The candidates who cleared the written examination held between December 10 to 21, 2017 have to get their physical examination done at various centres allotted to candidates. The medical test was preceded by a physical efficiency examination and document testing stage.

The police in its defence has said that it did so to avoid any kind of confusion or mistake while taking the candidates physical attributes such as height into consideration for the recruitment. The height cut-off for General and OBC category is 168 whereas that of the SC and ST Category candidate is 165. The district's SP has said that there is no ill-feeling or malice in this decision by the police.
