While Congress has credited its victory to the development work undertaken by the Capt Amarinder-led government in Punjab, the SAD has accused the ruling party of misusing the law and order machinery during the local body elections.
SAP spokesperson Daljit Singh Cheema said Congress legislators along with local strongmen drove away Akali Dal's polling agents from several booths. Congress, however, denied the charge. "This shows their frustration. People have rejected them and now they are resorting to lies," said party MP Ravneet Singh Bittu.
