Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, talking on the crisis in the CBI, said that the "
"recent developments had eroded the credibility of CBI. CVC in the interest of fairness passed an order that till investigations are pending against two top officers of CBI, they must step aside and recuse themselves from CBI functioning till inquiry is over."

Congress legislature leader in the Lok Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, wrote a strongly-worded letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the CVC's decision to send CBI director Alok Verma on a forced leave. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting raids at the office of Amnesty International in Bengaluru. The raids are on since 2 pm.
