The Mahendra Singh Dhoni led Chennai team was making a comeback after a gap of two years as Chennai was barred from playing the IPL. New Delhi, May 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal (KGP) Expressway, which is also known as the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE), in the Delhi-NCR region today. In Tamil Nadu, Section 144 CrPC has been uplifted today from the protest-hit region of Tuticorin. The city witnessed a violent uprising against Sterlite group, the copper smelting industry which was planning to double its output to 8,00,000 tonnes per annum.

 

On the international front, all eyes remain fixed on the developments emerging from Washington related to the proposed summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un. While the summit was scheduled on June 12 in Singapore, it was cancelled earlier in the week by Trump  citing the "hostile statements" coming from Pyongyang. However, the conditions have improved over the past couple of days with South Korean President Moon Jae-in claiming on Sunday that the "summit will happen".
