Situation remains grim in the frontier state of Kashmir as unprovoked firing from the Pakistani side continues despite India announcing a ceasefire in the holy month of Ramzan. Apart from the exchange of fire around the LoC and International Border, the Pakistani Army is also abetting the infiltration of terrorists in the Valley.

At least four terrorists were gunned down by the forces in the early hours of Saturday after they attempted to infiltrate through the Tangdhar sector. The operation was underway when this report was first published.

Meanwhile, global news trotters have their eyes fixed on the latest development on the possible summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un. Trump, on Wednesday, had called off the meeting citing "hostile behaviour" by Pyongyang.

On Friday, however, Washington softened its approach saying it was still "open to the summit" if North Korea expresses the willingness to discuss all issues.
