The Delhi Police on Monday filed its chargesheet in the Sunanda Pushkar death case, booking Congress veteran and Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor under IPC sections 306 (abetment to suicide) and 498A (cruelty in marriage). With Tharoor being booked under the strenuous charges, he is required to appear before the Patiala House Court during the course of trial. However, the Delhi Police would not seek his arrest till Tharoor or his counsel appears before the bench in each of the hearings, reports said.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's kidney transplant surgery was successful, and according to the statement issued by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jaitley is recovering.

The Election Commission of India is scheduled to begin the counting of votes at 8 am. Additional security has been deployed across 38 counting centres in the state.
