In connection with the Sunanda Pushkar death case, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has moved an anticipatory bail plea in Delhi's Patiala House Court.In the INX media case, Delhi High Court has extended P Chidambaram's interim protection from arrest.

Heavy rains lashed Mumbai, causing severe water-logging in several areas of the city. A part of the Gokhale Bridge in Andheri collapsed on the tracks, as a result of which, railway services on the Western Line and Harbour line were disrupted. The Central Line however, was working normally. In the mishap, around 5 people were injured and they were immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.
