New Delhi, July 01: In a major announcement, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the deadline to March 31, 2019. It is the fifth extension granted by the government. Earlier, CBDT had fixed June 30, 2018, as the last date for linking Aadhaar card with PAN. The government has made mandatory to link Adhaar with PAN for filing Income Tax Returns. The individuals who do not link the two documents will not be able to file the return.

Among other major news, The eight-year-old girl who was kidnapped and raped has been responding well to the medical treatment. A medical bulletin issued by MY Hospital on Saturday confirmed that the girl was showing signs of improvement. On the international front, a day after being 'greylisted' by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), Pakistan said it would implement to the 26-point action plan issued by the Paris-based global watchdog.
