An avalanche hit the village of Khandiyal close to Army Camp in Dawar, in Jammu and Kashmir's Gurez at 9 pm yesterday. A total of 18 houses were completely damaged & 28 houses suffered partial damage. No loss of human life & livestock took place due to timely action by the Avalanche Rescue Team.

International Olympic Committee has suspended all discussions with India on hosting any international event until clear written guarantees are obtained from the Indian government of complying with the Olympic Charter.
Days after the Pulwama attack, India on Thursday decided to block water to Pakistan by from the three eastern rivers --the Beas, Ravi and Sutlej. Union Minister of Water Resources Nitin Gadkari said that water of three rivers flowing into Pakistan, over which India has full rights under the Indus Water Treaty, will be diverted to Yamuna river.
In the wake of mounting international pressure to act against terrorists following Pulwama terror attack, Pakistan has imposed a ban on two outfits of UN-designated terrorist Hafiz Saeed. Pakistan has banned Hafiz Saeed-led Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) and Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation (FIF) under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997. Saeed is the co-founder of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, which was responsible for 26/11 Mumbai attacks in which 166 people were killed.
Samajwadi Party (SP) founder Mulayam Singh Yadav on Thursday hit out at his son Akhilesh Yadav who is now handling the party affairs all by himself on forming an alliance with Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. While criticising Akhilesh, Mulayam Singh Yadav also made an offer to the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister.
The Pulwama attack has shaken the country and there have been cricketers demanding a ban on the match against Pakistan in the World Cup 2019. The match is supposed to happen on June 16, 2019, in Manchester. Also, IMG Reliance pulled out from the Pakistan Super League 2019 as producers. This move surely did not go down well with Shahid Afridi who represents Multan Sultan in the PSL 2019 and in his interviews had been criticising the Indians. During one of the interviews, he went on to take a sly dig at the BCCI and Indian cricket and said that they threaten the players to not play in other leagues.
