On Tuesday, M Karunanidhi, 94 died after a prolonged illness. The funeral ceremony will be held today evening. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has released the schedule of Karunanidhi's last journey before burial. Karunanidhi's body will be kept at Rajaji Hall for public viewing. The mortal remains will be first taken to his Gopalapuram residence.

The Madras High Court on Tuesday adjourned hearing on a petition seeking permission to bury M Karunanidhi near Amma Memorial at Marina Beach. The hearing will resume at 8:00 am today when the Tamil Nadu government will file its reply. During the hearing, the state government sought more time to submit its answer. The mortal remains of Karunanidhi will soon be kept at Rajaji Hall for public viewing.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday reprimanded Assam co-coordinator of the National Register for Citizens (NRC) Prateek Hajela and Registrar General of India for speaking to media. The apex court held them guilty of contempt of court, saying it could have sent them to jail. It also restrained them from speaking to media in future without its approval.

Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit pays last respects to former Tamil Nadu CM. There has been a huge crowd that has gathered at Chennai's Rajaji Hall to pay their final respects to Karunanidhi. They have started raising slogans of 'Long Live Kalaignar' and 'Need Marina! Need Marina!'
