The Mumbai Police on Saturday informed that they had given a ‘Police Clearance Certificate’ to fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi in 2017 as no criminal antecedents were found against him that time. In its release on Saturday, the Mumbai Police said that they have ordered an inquiry "into the matter of issuance of police verification report (PVR)" to Choksi when he obtained the passport here in 2015.
Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during the protest led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) over Muzaffarpur shelter home rapes case. Indian women's singles star P.V. Sindhu overcame Japanese second seed Akane Yamaguchi in straight games in China on Saturday to march into the second consecutive final of the Badminton World Championships. Third seed Sindhu, a three-time World Championships medallist, prevailed 21-16, 24-22 in 55 minutes over Yamaguchi in a semi-final to set up the title clash against Spanish seventh seed and two-time former world champion Carolina Marin.
