Former Prime Minister Atal Bihar Vajpayee died at the age of 93 on Thursday, August 16, after undergoing treatment for over two months at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). Vajpayee was ailing since 2009. He was suffering from lower respiratory tract infection and kidney- related issues and was admitted to AIIMS on June 11. Leaders across party-lines have paid homage to the leader. The leader will be cremated at 4 pm today and his last journey will begin at 1 pm

The governments of Bangladesh and Pakistan expressed grief over the demise of former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who passed away at AIIMS today. In the official statement issued, both Islamabad and Dhaka recalled Vajpayee as "statesman" who worked towards peace in the South Asian region.
