Lalu Prasad Yadav in Mumbai For Heart Treatment, Will Head Bengaluru Next For Kidney-Related Ailments

Mumbai, May 23: Former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav is scheduled for an appointment with a city-based heart specialist on Wednesday. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief reached Mumbai late yesterday, and is expected to leave for Bengaluru on Thursday.
Lalu, convicted in three fodder scam cases, was granted a six-week parole by the Jharkhand High Court on grounds of his medical ailments. The 70-year-old is plagued by multiple ailments, including heart and kidney-related diseases.
In Mumbai, he has sought an appointment with renowned heart surgeon Ramakant Panda at the Asian Heart Institute, reports said. The veteran politician is accompanied by his long-time aide and party leader Bhola Yadav.
Lalu is expected to leave for Bengaluru tomorrow, where he has sought an appointment with experts and consultants at the GBS Global Medical Institute for his kidney-related ailments.
Among other health issues which the former Railways Minister suffer, include chronic diabetes and blood pressure.
Lalu was admitted for nearly a week at the AIIMS earlier in the month. On his discharge, he expressed displeasure, claiming to be "not satisfied with his treatment".
Lalu's son Tejashwi Yadav had cried conspiracy over the "abnormal discharge" of his father, claiming a "grand conspiracy is being hatched by the BJP and (Bihar CM) Nitish Kumar".
