Kolkata, June 12: In a shocking case of suicide, a class 12 student has allegedly ended her life, and she live-streamed the event on Facebook. The incident occurred after the girl's mother had left for work in West Bengal’s Sonarpur area of South 24 Parganas.  The teenager girl allegedly committed suicide post an altercation with her boy friend on social media. The body of the deceased, identified as Mousumi Mistri,  was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her room.

The girl's family members have said the she committed suicide after she had a fight with her boyfriend over chat and threatened that she would kill herself. A relative has been quoted as saying that the girl went out on Sunday afternoon, butame back home upset. Police have detained the girl's boyfriend for allegedly abetting suicide.

This is not the first time that youngsters have used social media to live stream when they are committing suicide. Suicide cases among teenagers, and students are on the rise these days. Earlier this month, when an UPSC aspirant was denied entry inside the exam hall, he committed suicide. A few days back, a post graduate student from Indore's private medical college allegedly committed suicide by injecting herself with a heavy dose of an anesthesia.
