Puducherry, June 12: Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi will host an Iftar party at the Raj Nivas on June 12 and as per the rules of the Governor's residence, only vegetarian food will be served. About 100 people have been invited for the Iftar party at the Raj Nivas in Puducherry tonight.

"RajNivas is hosting IFTAR today for a select 100 invitees. Mostly comprising of our own Muslim Public Officials, women and few others seniors of the community. Only vegetarian food is served as per the current policy at RajNivas for all occasions," Kiran Bedi tweeted.

Many on Twitter have started trolling Bedi for hosting an iftar party with vegetarian food even as the rules of the Raj Nivas do not permit non-vegetarian food for any occasion.

Meanwhile, in Delhi, Union Minister of Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi will also be hosting an iftar party for divorced women and their families on June 13.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi, too, is set to host an iftar party in the national capital on June 13. His iftar party is making headlines with reports saying that former president Pranab Mukherjee's name is missing from the list of invitees. However, later reports emerged that the former president will attend the Congress's iftar party.
