Malappuram, July 9: In a shocking case, a class 5 student was expelled from a madrasa at Pattambi in Kerala for applying sandalwood paste on her forehead, while acting in a short film, according to a Times of India report. According to the report, the girl was expelled because she sported a sandalwood paste, and her father refused to apologise for it. The man has now transferred his daughter and son to another madrasa which believes in secular views and doesn't adhere to strong adamant outlook.

In his Facebook post, the father shared, "This is my daughter who is equally good in studies, acting and singing. She came first in academics in madrassa as well in her school. She excelled in district-level and sub-district level arts competitions. She secured sixth rank in Class V public examination conducted by the madrassa. But the madrassa expelled her for applying sandalwood paste on her forehead while acting in a short film. (Luckily she was spared from the stone-pelting incident).
